Buttons

Cute As A Button is a 14-year-old ESEF registered pony standing 13 hands. She is absolutely adorable, has great conformation, and is an absolute sweetheart. Buttons has been an asset to a lesson program for years. This pony LOVES to jump! She is comfortable from cross rails up to 2’6”, although she has primarily been kept around the 2’. She is the ultimate show packer and has introduced countless riders to the walk-trot ring. With more show miles than anyone could count, she has proven to be just as dependable away from home as she is in her own arena. She has also been apart of the IEA program. While primarily being ridden English, Buttons also rides quietly Western without missing a beat. Not only is she wonderful in the arena, but she’s also an exceptional trail pony. She heads down the trail with a level head, enjoys being out, and isn’t bothered by dogs, traffic, or the commotion that comes with everyday riding. Her ground manners are equally impressive. She’s kind around children, clips, bathes, ties, cross ties, lunges, stands well for the farrier, and practically loads herself into the trailer. She’s been barefoot for years, is an easy keeper, and does not require a special diet. Buttons is an incredible pony, but like many seasoned lesson horses, she benefits from an occasional refresher to keep her sharp. The “worst” you may see is her get a little sticky when asked to move forward. A light reminder with a crop or small bumper spurs is generally all she needs, and even then, it’s uncommon.  Buttons has never offered bucking, rearing, or bolting. For riders wanting to jump full courses, she does best with a rider who is assertive to keep her moving forward and maintaining her rhythm. If she feels an unstable rider, she will slow down and take care of them. She has always been exceptionally well cared for. To help keep her feeling her best during heavier workloads typically in the spring and fall her owner gives her Equioxx as needed. She also had her hocks injected for the first time this July as part of routine maintenance. Current hock and stifle X-rays are available from her recent evaluation. Buttons is current on feet, teeth, vaccinations, and deworming. 

She is only being rehomed because her current barn is stepping away from the lesson business to focus on raising their own children. Buttons will be an incredible addition to another family or lesson program, and she’s ready to continue doing what she loves. She will be missed and owners would love to stay in contact for updates.
