Copper

We sold Copper three years ago and I absolutely loved him then just as much as I do now. Everything about this gelding is special, and someone is going to gain an incredible partner and family horse.

Copper Creek is a 13 year old APHA sorrel gelding standing 14.1 hands. Not only is he a handsome guy, but he’s one of the sweetest horses you’ll have the pleasure of being around. He is an own son of Metallic Cat and has previous NCHA earnings. With his original owner, Copper was used for sorting, team penning, and trail riding. He has also been on camping trips, traveled through South Dakota, and even ridden the wilderness trails around Mount Rushmore. Over the past three years, he has continued doing what he loves  hitting the trails. Not just neighborhood rides, but true backcountry adventures through all types of terrain. He confidently crosses water, rocks, logs, washes, and whatever else is in his path. One of the things I love most about Copper is his versatility. From seniors to kids, experienced riders to beginners, he adjusts to his rider and takes care of them. Everyone who rides him enjoys him. In the arena, Copper is broke the way you hope they all are. He has all the buttons but doesn’t make his rider use them all. He has smooth transitions, is responsive, side-passes, pivots, and is simply enjoyable to ride. He can play on barrels and poles, as he so well trained he will do just about anything for his rider. He would also excel in ranch classes or could easily go back to the cutting pen if someone chose that path. Copper is the kind that can sit for a while and come back the exact same honest horse every ride. His ground manners are excellent, he bathes, clips, ties, loads, and is great for the farrier. He’s an easy keeper and has always been exceptionally well cared for. Copper is the kind of horse that’s hard to replace but with life changes he deserves more. He’ll be an asset to any barn and is suitable for just about anyone looking for a kind, versatile, and dependable partner. He is current on hoof care, teeth, shots, and deworming.
