Dudley

Dudley is a 12-year-old (age verified) chestnut Appaloosa gelding standing 14.1 hands with a cute build and an incredibly sweet personality. Over the years, Dudley has primarily been used as a trail horse with occasional outings to sort cattle. He’s seen all types of terrain, crossed a variety of obstacles, and has been exposed to many different environments. He has a nice, comfortable walk and genuinely enjoys being out on the trail. He can go out alone,  he may nicker if another horse calls to him first, he continues on without any fuss. He also rides well in a group and isn’t bothered by traffic, ATVs, bicycles, or dogs. Dudley isn’t limited to the trails as he’s  quite handy in the arena. He walk, trots, and canters. If given the choice, he’d probably rather stick to walking and trotting not because he can’t canter, but simply because that’s his preferred pace.

He can be ridden both Western and English and has a true one hand neck rein. Dudley pivots, moves off leg pressure, flexions, headsets and side passes. Since he’s spent most of his time trail riding, we’ve been legging him back up with a light refresher in the arena, and he’s picked everything right back up.I’ve personally put beginners on Dudley and hauled him to several different arenas while he’s been with us. He’s a very cool and overall an easy gelding. He isn’t looking to cause problems and seems patient. Dudley absolutely loves attention! He enjoys being groomed, bathed, stands quietly tied, is easy to tack up, loads well in the trailer, and is a gentleman for the farrier.

He has had no previous health issues and is an easy keeper. He is current on his feet, teeth, vaccinations, and deworming. If you’re looking for a kind, honest trail partner that also has a solid foundation in the arena, Dudley is a wonderful gelding.
