Franny is a 13 year old red dun mare standing 14.3 hands with more of an athletic build. She has straight legs, no blemishes or scarring and a sweet demeanor. From the moment you halter her, groom, saddle, and step on, she’s the same horse every time. She hasn’t been finished in any one discipline but has been the go-to horse for a little bit of everything. Franny strikes a nice balance - she’s not a deadhead, but she’s not overly quick-footed either. You ask, and she responds. I find her enjoyable to ride as she’s honest with no funny business. She walk, trot, and canters with ease. Has a great stop, neck reins, moves off leg, side passes, and has a decent turnaround. Her only “mare-ish” quirk is pinning her ears at times while being ridden it’s completely harmless but can be off putting to some. Franny has played around on barrels and poles not finished, but handy enough to do them. She does well out on the trails. The worst she’s done is try to turn back when leaving the house; correct her once, and she moves on without issue. She’s definitely not the spooky type but if she does react, it’s subtle. Franny would make a great step-up horse for a youth rider or someone looking to dabble in a bit of everything. As mentioned, she’s safe and sensible but responsive, so a confident, light-handed rider would be the best fit. She ties quietly, bathes, loads, and is a gem for the farrier. She’s always been well taken care of and has not needed any maintenance to date. Franny is current on feet, teeth, shots, and deworming.
