JJ

JJ Poco Hi Brow is a 5 year old AQHA bay gelding standing 14.1 hands. He has a nice, build, a great demeanor, and is ready to become someone’s number one. Through no fault of his own, JJ has spent time on and off the back burner, but he has always stayed honest and retained everything. He has a true go with the flow attitude and genuinely wants to please his rider. He’s had all the groundwork done. Lunges, ties quietly, loads, picks up all four feet, hauls well, and stands to be groomed and saddled. He has a solid foundation and naturally wants to stay soft and focused rather than looking for mischief. Under saddle, JJ walks, trots, and canters, knows his leads, moves off leg pressure, and works well off body cues. He has been exposed to cattle and ropes and has played around with barrel drills. Since he’s been here, I’ve thrown a little bit of everything at him, and he continues to take it all in stride. Out on the trail, JJ has overall does well. He isn’t out looking for things to spook at, and if something does catch his attention, it’s usually just a slight step or head tilt. Most of his riding has been on open trails rather than through neighborhoods, but he has done well with traffic, dogs, and bicycles. JJ has been well cared for and hasn’t been over used. I could easily see him making a jam-up heel or breakaway horse, but he also has the mind and ability to become a nice all-around guy. He’s sensible enough that a handy youth could continue his training and have a lot of fun with him. JJ is current on trimming, teeth, shots, and deworming.
