Playboy

Dellas Tardy Playboy is an 18 year old AQHA gelding standing 15 hands. Playboy has been owned by friends of our since he was a colt. Has seen every aspect of the ranch life and isn’t shy of a days work. Been honest, no matter how much time he’s had off. In the past , friends would even call to use Playboy when they needed a solid horse. As time goes on, kids get older we go through life changes and this is the only reason Playboy is looking for his new person. He deserves and enjoys having something to do, many years left for him. Playboy is simple and very straight to the point, he’s been taken care of but not pampered on. Not watchy or mean, not even sure if we had a mean bone in his body. But if you try give him extra affection he does wonder what you’re doing and will act stand offish. Now for myself, I love to give him hugs and scratches and he deals with it. I’ve been riding him a few days a week for close to a month now, probably the most arena work he has seen as far as circles and a refresher on the basics. Walk, trots, canters. Knows his leads, has a nice stop and backs. Playboy is not fancy broke, he rides around for most to get along and to the point. I have found that in the arena, he does best with a tie down and that’s simply for the balance especially at a canter in smaller circles. Not because he tosses his head or acts ill mannered. He has in the past been ridden with or without one, just depends on what he was doing for that day. When taking Playboy out on the trails through the neighborhoods, he isn’t spooky, walks out and will occasionally will winnie if he sees a horse or one talks to him when by himself. May pick up a light jog but easily comes back into a walk. With another horse(s) he goes right along with no hesitations. When Playboy has a job or task to be done, such as gathering or roping calves his mind definitely stays focused on the task. Mainly been ridden by men but has been wonderful for me. Playboy could easily go back to ranch work but also would be great for trail riding. Would do well with sorting or penning, could even go into the roping pen if someone wanted to teach him the basics of tracking out of the box. Playboy has been barefoot majority of his life as he has hard feet. Current on feet, teeth, shots and deworming.
